Are Dandelions An Anti Cancer Wonder?

A little while I wrote a post about how I love Dandelions and how some people view these bright yellow pops of color are the most annoying and hardest weed to get rid of from your lush green grass gardens, but what these little and I'll call them flowers/herb have are wonderful health benefits.

Then this morning I read an article all about dandelions and how this garden pest or beauty may be an Anti Wonder Cancer drug. The article is a short but wonderful insight at how something frowned upon by many, may actually be of amazing use. You can read the full article HERE

Snap Away 2

While on UW campus my hubby Jason got sent a picture text that somebody took of these cute young family of foxes

Her mother and her cubs

I just couldn't help to do some editing and zoom using my iPhone 6

How adorable!

But these bright snaps, I took outside the place Carys goes to her music class Kindermusik
It has a cute little garden with benches and circled with brightly colored blooms.

I couldn't help but snap away

Little purple pansies, touched with yellow gold,
Growing in one corner of the garden old;
We are very tiny but must try, try, try
Just one spot to gladden, you and I.

Time to use the edit feature on my phone!

This is how your eyes would view this flower - no editing

Yet another party!

Seren and her school friend Asad, the birthday girl Zoya's brother

Carys and Seren were both invited to their friend Zoya's 3rd birthday yesterday and what fun they had.

Even though Carys wore her swimming costume she didn't dip one toe in the paddling pool! Instead, she was busy moving and riding the tricycle in the hot weather lol

YUM!

Dandelions

I have loved seeing the dandelions out recently and I took the time to snap some pictures using my iPhone. All the pictures on this post are all my own!

I love Dandelions. Yes, many consider them a weed, but as a child, we'd pluck these yellow beauty's, hold them under our chins and see if we love butter!

Then the time came when they would seed - and who remembers playing what's the time Mr.Wolf with these?

What's the time Mr. Wolf - blow - 1 o'clock
What's the time Mr.Wolf - blow - 2 o'clock

And so on until the dandelion seedlings have all been blown away!

What's the time Mr. Wolf - DINNER TIME.

Kids run screaming as you chase them, trying to catch them!

I loved playing this childhood game and now, having two little girls again, later in life, I am so lucky to get to relive this childhood wonder -- All over again, and what's more wonderful is that my girls, Seren and Carys love playing in the dandelions too!

And what's more these beauties have health benefits too!

AND IF YOUR LUCKY - YOU GET A LADYBUG ON ONE!

Round Coffee Filter Roses.

So for our LDS stake relief society, women's conference I made a bunch of these
Round coffee filter roses.

I dyed the filters using food coloring and dried them in a LOW oven until they dried
Make sure you keep an eye on them - you don't want a fire

Once dried, I cut the edges in a scollop style

Take 6 filters, I used two different sizes
Fold them in half and half again, then unfold

Then in the very center of the flower you need to pinch the underside together

Taking a stapler, staple the pinched filters together.

Lay the flower flat and open it up.

Then one filter at a time to lift it up

And pinch together

Continue to do this until each layer has been used

Flip it back over and take some clear tape and tape the staple end.

And there you have it, an easy coffee filter flower.

And kids just love to make these :)
